PORTRAIT OF A LIQUID FAMILY

This project explores the dissolution of family bonds in the postmodern era.
Drawing on Zygmunt Bauman’s theory of liquidity — and his concept of Liquid Modernity — it raises questions about the future of the nuclear family, and how familial ties have transformed over time.

Using a collection of archival photographs, the images are physically dissolved and transferred onto paper.
What was once solid, firm, and stable now becomes liquid, ephemeral, and volatile.
